PLAYOFFS Game 1: Magic Men vs. Charlie Price

"Ciurro controversy"

CP limped into this game as the fourth place seed, but their roster was better than they had been showing and the Supervets took over the show. A controversy was created when neither Isaac nor Dinger was able to play for CP, so I hit the free agent market and found the ultimate warrior, A Train. He frustrated Magic Men with save after save as CP jumped out to a commanding lead early. After a lot of whining by "Goo-Goo, Ga-Ga" Rowe, I did some goalie flipping and late dramatics pushed this game into a 6-6 tie and now an overtime. The 5 minute OT was epic with no tallies, which meant a Shootout would decide the outcome. Silky Farr was the lone scorer as CP upsets MM, amidst controversy..

MVP- Farr and E.V. for being a trooper and playing for both teams..

CP MOVES ON TO THE SHIP!!!

June 14th Highlights

Both games were gongers so no highlights this week...

Playoffs next week!!!!

June 7th Highlights

Big Fellas Game 1: Gong Show vs Charlie Price

"Gonger"

Gong Show starting to roll as CP had issues generating any sustained offense on this night. Er, Commer and Silky Farr  jump started the CP squad, but just too much balance for the Gong Show. Yano, Birdy, Goldy, were all over the scoresheet. Carouchi scored some big momentum goals and tallied the Hat Trick, to earn MVP honors.

MVP- Carouchi

GS-10, CP- 5

June 3rd Highlights (Make up for May 17th)

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

Big Fellas Game 1: Dad Bods vs. Charlie Price

"Ugly"

It was hard to watch at points as short benches and a lot of old guys screeched the pace to a halt. It was the young guns that pushed the pace for Demo's squad and kept me from sleep..B irdy supplied some great early energy. Coppy, Herzy, Chunger, Casey, Whits were all in the action.

A guest appearance by Bolly, rekindled the R Briody magic for a pair.  Millsey was competing hard and Erwin buried a few of his 20 breakaways to make it interesting late. Gavs is old. Eadsey brought a bit of a spark at points.

Smitty was strong going the whole way and Demo put the nail in the coffin to seal the victory for Dad Bods..

Co MVP - Smitty/ Birdy

DB - 9, CP- 6

May 24 Highlights

Big Fellas Game 2: Magic Men vs. Charlie Price

"Too Much Magic"

No answer from CP on this night as they just couldn't match the balanced onslaught of this tough Magic Men squad. Norris cruised to victory. CP had its moments but just were handled shift by shift by the Magic Men. No drama, just a gonger.

MVP- Malki!!

MM- 12

CP- 5

May 10th Highlights

Game 2: Charlie Price vs. Goldy's Gong Show

"Dead even"

Everything from shot totals to no winner thru a shootout round showed how tight this game was. Just a back and forth contest that was a yawner early but picked up intensity as the game moved to the second frame. This game ended in our second tie in two weeks, just showing how things are starting to tighten up. Suttsey makes his debut with a big goal, and Yancy led the attack for CP. Tending was strong both ways in this tight contest.

MVP- Yancy for two snipes..

CP- 6
GS- 6

No winner- tie game!!!

May 3rd Highlights

Game 1: CP vs Magic Men

"A lot of rabbits in the hat"

Absolutely a balanced team effort that kept Magic Men undefeated this week. Secondary scoring from Aziz, Breakey, and E Decker was a huge difference as this one went down to the wire. EV went the whole way and held CP 78 in check to pick up the victory. Very strong performance as this team looks tough to beat, and very deep.

E Decker goes MVP for his hustle goals..

CP-8
MM-10

April 26th Highlights

GAME 1: Dad Bods vs. Charlie Price

"Huge Free Agent Pickup"

The deal hit the wire about 2 hours before game time, and it impacted the game big time. Whits gave Demo's squad that extra veteran presence they were missing. JA and Whits teamed up and really stepped up huge in this game giving Dad Bods their first win. Silky and Mark made it interesting down the stretch, but it was Dad Bods' night. Vuk tallies his first goal in big boy play as well.

MVP - Whits

April 19th Highlights

Gong Show vs. Charlie Price

"Put a FORK in them"

First game of the new season featured Supervets doing their thing. It also featured a few new guys settling into thier first Big City Games. It was back and forth for a while, as the line of Knighter, Goldy, and a newly bulked up Yanovich made some things happen. Big Tess popped one as well, but It was the ASU COMBO of Velasco and "Silky" Farr that did all the late damage and really put this game out of reach. The Brothers Odie, and "Mr.Arizona" Austin Mills provided secondary scoring as well, and the rookie JAACK-NER tallied a big one.

Gong Show had some good momentum from first time gunners Spin, Cade and Deano, but came up short. DINGER and ISAAC The GREAT were strong, and Goldy went the whole way and fought hard in his first big show.
TOO MUCH FORK, as Farr and Velasco go for Co-MVP!!
